Rotary heat Exchanger always rotates , the below half of rotor is cooled and dried by return air, while return air becomes hot and humid exhaust air. When this half of rotor rotates into supply air duct, it can cool down and dry the outdoor air become cooled and dry supply air while the rotor itself becomes hot and humid. When it rotates into the return air duct, the half of rotor will repeat the first step.
The rotor matrix consist of small sinusoidal channels made from thin aluminum foil. Untreated aluminum foil is used for sensible heat recovery. Epoxy-coated aluminum or seawater resistant foil with higher magnesium content is best suited in installations in aggressive environments such as industrial or maritime locations. Sensible rotors transfer only humidity during the winter when exhaust air condenses in the rotor matrix and is taken up by the supply air stream.
Hygroscopic or sorption-treated rotors transfer airborne humidity (latent energy) year round. The aluminum foil in hygroscopic rotors is oxidized to create a surface that transfers humidity.
Sorption rotors foil is permanently coated with sorption material of the type 3A molecular siever, which has an extrmely hugh humidity transfer capacity.

The Thermosiphon Principle
Honeywell Solar Water Heaters work on thermosiphon principle, a highly trusted and efficient system of water heating. Based on phenomenon of natural convection, water stored in the collector heats up by solar energy, becomes lighter and rises naturally into the tank above. At the same time the cooler water in the tank flows down pipes the bottom of the collector, and this circulation continues to occur naturally, resulting in overall termperature rise of water stored in the tank.
